#masterchefkwok part I.

In the clubroom wasting my life away now HAHA coz I have no where to go since all my friends are busy today hence finally got time to sit my ass down to blog.

Last last week, I attempted to cook cold soba for lunch. Mum and I bought the instant soba from daiso. It was highly recommended by Daiso so we tried!!

The soba sticks. I think there are about 4 servings in a pack.

The sauce for dipping the noodles in.

Daiso items are $2 each so I got all these for $4 LOL.

So I followed the instructions and scattered the soba sticks into the pot to boil. But damn because I'm such a kitchen disaster, I actually burnt my noodles LOL WTH. You know you're supposed to scatter and quickly stir the noodles in, but I think I had the temperature too high then I couldn't stir the noodles into the pot in time then they freaking bent over the exterior of the pot and caught fire HAHA like really freaking fire. Pinterest wasn't lying when they said you could use a pasta stick to light candles.

OH THE HORROR HAHA. This was the aftermath after sieving out all the charred noodles and mind you, there were so many strands of charred noodles.

After the noodles are boiled, then just drained out the excess water using a strainer, then soak the noodles in cold water, and strain and drain the water out.

Look if you look closely still can see brown charred noodles inside HAHA.

Pouring the sauce into a dish LOL I poured too much sia!! I poured out 1/3 of the bottle and freak sia the sauce IS EXTREMELY SALTY. You have to dilute it with loads of water to make it less salty. Gina told me after seeing my snapchat story that putting sugar makes it less salty. Perhaps I'll try it next time. Note how I used a brown colour ceramic bowl and printed chopsticks to give it a more Japanese feel LOL A FOR EFFORT A FOR PRESENTATION.

Ok you know cold noodles the sauce is usually cold de right. (I'm not sure but Sakae Sushi always serves the sauce cold), so I put the sauce in the fridge to chill for a while. Doreen adds the ice to the noodles but I'm not sure how long the ice has been in my fridge LOL so I decided to just chill it instead.

I thought my noodles looked a bit bland, so...

SEAWEED TO THE RESCUE. Got quite a lot of such packs of seaweed from chinatown during the cny festival and they are so good!! Like super crunchy.

HAHAH spam spam spam spam spam. Damn good sia I am really quite impressed with this!! All these for around $4 only sia. And still have 3 more bunches of noodles that I haven't cooked yet.

It was an exciting moment in the kitchen HAHA but my father was damn angry that I burnt the noodles LOL. So scared I burn the whole house down is it. GO TRY IT EVERYONE. I have more plans to cook more!! Even got the udon noodles from daiso and have been researching on how to cook a good udon broth though. Those recipes I found contain too much vegetables yuck where is the perfect recipe. Maybe I can get hanjuku eggs from 7-11 but hmmm we shall see.

Hmmm should I go home now or wait till J comes coz Zai wanna prank the birthday boy HAHAHA.

Also, I realise that no matter what you do, people will always find fault in you. You can do a million good things, but people will still find what you do "not enough", "not good enough". And so I say to myself, freak whatever people think. You deserve better and their opinion should not matter. You do not need the approval or validation of others. So chin up, because you are worth it. I haven't felt so rejuvenated and optimistic in a while, and I guess I've gone way past the stage of caring about what people say because they do not matter. Smile, girl.
