carpool.

Thought it would be good to note down this experience.

So we just sent Chloe and Mich off to US for their exchange omg so envious!! And then Xiumei called Vivan, and told us that the last train from Tanah Merah to Joo Koon is at 2316. The last train to JE is at 2336. Omg we freaking panicked and dashed off the airport (around 2250+). Note: I was only at the airport for around 10 mins or so HAHA. I left home at 9.17pm but it took me so long to reach the airport wth!! Because throughout my journey, I missed a train at Tanah Merah, and the next train was "DO NOT BOARD", and during this period, 3 trains from jookoon arrived wth. WASTE MY TIME.

Ok anyway, when we were at the airport, we were guessing that XM and LH would be on the train approaching the airport. And true enough, they were!! It was even so coincidental that we were at the same door HAHAHA MUCH FATE. But anyway, the train waited for 4 mins before leaving, and by then, it was already 11.17pm, which meant I MISSED MY LAST TRAIN HOME.

Vivan and WX could still take the train home from JE provided that the following train came on time, but the next train at Tanah Merah was "DO NOT BOARD" AGAIN. And the train stopped so long!! Our train then became the last train to JE.

Anyway, when we arrived at JE, WX, PN and Vivan were lucky enough to have a last train that can bring them home. I dashed down to the interchange to find possible buses to Boon Lay. At this point, I was looking at the board for all bus routes, and found out that the last bus service to Boon Lay has terminated. Then, this woman beside me asked me ARE THERE NO MORE BUSES TO BOONLAY?? So I told her yeah, and I have to cab because I'm going to Boon Lay too. THEN, she asked me if I wanted to share a cab together!!

At that moment, I was like WHY NOT. CHEAPER ANYWAY, and she seemed pretty nice an wouldn't cheat me LOL. I WAS SO GLAD!! I do not like to spend on cabs!! I was still complaining to Vivan that it would be my first time cabbing alone LOL. So we walked to the main road opposite jcube and there were MANY people who were hailing a cab. We were so lucky because we heard another lady going to boon lay, so we asked if she wanted to share her cab with us, and she agreed. (but this lady seemed less nice LOL).

I alighted first because yay nearer to MRT station. And here comes the problem: HOW TO SPLIT THE CAB FEE??

The first woman I was with suggested $5 per person. (when I alighted, the fee was already $8.26). I agreed because it seemed reasonable and plus there would be midnight surcharge. But the second lady seemed unhappy but at that point, we couldn't be bothered already because we were tired and $5 per person really sounded so cheap and worth it!!

Haha it's interesting how strangers meet for the first time and we just carpooled. It's definitely worth it, but do it with caution seriously.
