Hi it's currently 2.16am and I'm finally done with packing HAHAHA and I have to wake up in 3 more hours and leave home at 6.15am. LAST MINUTE PACKING IS A BAD DECISION, but I can't help but procrastinate because packing is such a chore!! I feel like I'm missing something though, but just can't figure out what I forgot to pack inside. Mainly left with my contact lenses and phone chargers, but something just doesn't feel right. Aiyah suan le.

A couple of weeks ago, an intern (unofficial one) came to join our office for a week. Ok I've no idea why I thought that it would be a guy intern from uni or something who would join us, but it turned out to be an 18 year old girl!! She's actually the daughter of my boss' brother's friend. The boss' brother introduced us to each other and told me to bring her out for lunch LOL so I did. Expected it to be awkward but it wasn't!! She's just so friendly and funny. Plus, she's talkative so I didn't have to worry about what to say to her.
Her life is so interesting too!! Her father's job requires them to always live in different countries. She's actually a Singaporean, but she has stayed in Cambodia for 3 years, Sri Lanka for 2 years, then left Singapore last year for Thailand. Apparently in her International school in Thailand, kids as young as 15 years old are already doing internship omg WHAT AM I DOING IN LIFE LOL.
So anyway, because she's always in different countries, she's not really exposed to learning Chinese, so her father had to pull her out from O level Chinese because she was so bad at it HAHA. And she doesn't really understand much Chinese. She told me an incident in her sec school, where she went to the Chicken rice stall in her canteen and wanted to order a plate of chicken rice and add egg, but she ended up saying 鸡饭假蛋 instead of 加蛋 HAHAA and we were laughing that the auntie would be like SORRY WE ONLY SELL REAL EGG NO FAKE EGG. She said ever since that incident, the auntie would scream EH 假蛋 假蛋 whenever she saw her HAHA. cute.
Oh another day I brought her to Subway, and we started talking about how subway isn't the ideal choice for a first date. So she happened to have a friend (let's call this friend A) whose friend (friend B) liked friend A, and both are girls. But friend A is straight, while B isn't. B asked A out, but she doesn't know how to reject B. A's friends told her to go to subway for their lunch, and key point is to EAT FREAKING MESSILY and let the sauce drip here and there and the veggies spill out here and there. So friend A listened, and purposely made a HUGE MESS when eating, but JENG JENG JENG!! THE PLAN BACKFIRED!! B thought that A was super adorable, real and natural for eating such messily HAHAHA. Oh gosh suay.
Ahhh I just realised that I've been referring to the intern as "she/her" in the entire post and forgot to say her name!! Her name is NADINE. Cool abstract name right!! Ok I think I'm really hungry at 2am so her name suddenly reminds me of Sardine oh gosh give me food right now. I'm weird ahhh.
Anyway, so grateful that she joined us for that week because finally got to hang out with young blood at work instead of with aunties LOL. Plus, she's so down to earth, nice, generous, cheerful, friendly, not judgmental, not bitchy, very pretty, and many many many positive attributes that I admire!! We were eating one day and this grandma approached us to sell tissue and she just gave the grandma $2 and rejected the tissues omg sweet girl. Oh and she happens to be very similar to me!! Like we have similar habits, dislikes, likes etc. I feel like I've found a long lost sister HAHA kidding drama queen in action.
It's really amazing how the night before she joined us, I was telling my mum how difficult it was for me to make friends because I'm so awkward. My mum even told me she doesn't understand why and I quote her, "you're a very nice girl". HAHA I freaking teared when she said that because she hardly praises me and that just tugged at my heartstrings. But aiyah mums all stand up for their kids, and I'm definitely not nice because I have my ultra bitchy bratty bimbotic moments. So that night, I wrote down on a private space, that I wanted to:
1. to treat everyone with sincerity and be genuine.
2. to be selfless.
3. to inspire or make a positive impact on someone else's life.
And amazingly, the next day, I actually met this girl, Nadine, who possessed all these attributes. And now, she has inspired me to be someone better, and she doesn't even know that she has made a positive impact on my life haha.
So glad that I plucked up the courage and asked her for a picture before she left the office HAHA. So dear Nadine, thanks for the week in the office!! See you in Singapore next year if you decide to enrol in local uni!! :)
Ok I should go sleep now. I'm actually freaking out a little because after all these incidents, I've absolutely no trust in aeroplanes now. And there even was a typhoon/storm in Hongkong last week. I really pray that we will be safe and that I can come home in one piece. There are so many words that I haven't told people and so many stuff that I haven't accomplished yet. Wait for me, my friends. I pray that I'll be back, somehow. Love you all.
