Entomophagy.

en·to·moph·a·gy - the practice of eating insects.

Well so yesterday my dad made me read this article "Would You Eat Caterpillar? UN Recommends Insect For Food". Boy I was so shocked, and perhaps a tinge of disgust.

Apparently, the UN encourages the world to eat insects instead of meat. According to the UN, 2 billion in the world are already eating insects. As quoted from some "insect-eaters", insects are "delicious & nutritious". The reasons why UN encourages the consumption of insects because they are low-fat and high in protein. They can even do the extreme stuff such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, creating jobs in developing countries and feeding the millions of hungry people in the world. Well, I find what Mr Mezzanaughty said about shortage of food as a political problem is so true. There is indeed an abundance of food in the world, just that some people are not able to afford it. Hmmm maybe eating insects can really solve their hunger problems??

Hmmm if that's the case, picture this: All of us seated around a table, happily eating our food. OH WAIT, HERE COMES A FLY. Quick!! Grab your chopsticks!!

We are all going to use our chopsticks to catch the flies like this cool dude here.

I am definitely not ready to pop an insect into my mouth.
